Expert Witness Interests: Dr. Eric Michael Rudnick actively practices full spectrum wound care with more than 15,000 patient encounters. His clinical work focuses on complex and chronic wounds related to trauma, diabetes, surgery, vascular disease, and pressure injury, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure injuries, arterial and ischemic ulcers, lymphedema, traumatic wounds, osteomyelitis, and post operative wounds. He uses advanced wound therapies such as negative pressure wound therapy (wound vacuums), skin substitutes, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, including hyperbaric treatment for acute osteomyelitis, most often in patients with diabetes. As an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Medical Director and physician, he oversees air and ground ambulance services in both rural and metropolitan systems, with responsibility for protocols, quality of care, and medical oversight for critically ill and injured patients in the field. His expert witness work focuses on standard of care, causation, and systems issues in wound care, pressure injury prevention and management, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, and EMS care for trauma, cardiac events, and other time sensitive emergencies.

Clinical Practice and Wound Care Expertise
Dr. Rudnick actively practices wound care and hyperbaric medicine. He splits his clinical time between the wound centers at Shasta Regional Medical Center and Dignity Health St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, where he serves as the Medical Director for both centers.
His clinical expertise includes the evaluation, treatment, and management of diabetic foot ulcers, pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, arterial ulcers, lymphedema, traumatic wounds, bone infections, post operative wounds, and complex non healing wounds. His hyperbaric oxygen practice focuses on acute osteomyelitis (bone infections), most often in patients with diabetes.
He teaches wound care locally and nationally through lectures and workshops and serves as a peer reviewer for Advances in Skin & Wound Care and WOUNDS: A Compendium of Clinical Research and Practice.
EMS Leadership
Dr. Rudnick is dual boarded in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services. He has practiced EMS medicine for more than 30 years in rural, frontier, and metropolitan systems, with extensive experience in both ground and air medical transport. He served on the State of California EMS Commission for eight years and was chair in his final year. He has been honored as EMS Medical Director of the Year by the State of California and has received the lifetime EMS Achievement Award from the California chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
He currently serves as Medical Director for a ground ambulance service and a helicopter (air ambulance) EMS service.
