Dr. Kelly Driver, DO FAAP is board certified in both Neonatology and Pediatrics. She specializes in caring for newborns with a variety of life threatening conditions at birth including respiratory distress and respiratory failure, sepsis, hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, persistent pulmonary hypertension, congenital heart disease, metabolic disease, birth injuries and disorders related to extreme prematurity. She cares for infants with a variety of congenital birth defects and genetic disorders.
She is skilled at emergent procedures including placement of emergent central umbilical lines, lumbar puncture, chest tube placement, and endotracheal intubation. She works closely alongside OBGYNs and attends high-risk deliveries to care for infants at risk for clinical decompensation and complications immediately following birth. For the past 6 years, she has worked for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Subspecialty Physicians, working in both high acuity level IV and level III units, where she cared for patients and supervised residents, neonatal nurse practitioners and physician assistants in their care. She is currently licensed to practice medicine in 2 states including Florida and North Carolina. As of May 2025, she has relocated to Pinehurst, NC where she is a full time clinical Neonatologist and cares for patients in their level III neonatal ICU at Moore Regional Hospital.
Dr. Driver has had the privilege of teaching medical students, residents of various training specialties including pediatrics, obstetrics and emergency medicine residents, and neonatology fellows. Her teaching experience activities includes both clinical teaching while caring for patients and via formal academic lectures. She is a skilled teacher who is able to explain medical concepts in easy-to-understand terms to various types of learners including parents, students, and others. Dr. Driver is available to review cases involving the medical care of newborn infants/neonates including birth injuries, birth complications, and care of critically ill infants with a variety of diagnoses in the first few months of life.
